A few months ago, AIDS GLOBAL ACTION came to our school to talk about a poster contest they were running on the 30th ‘anniversary’ of AIDS. After talking to several people, including the fantastic (Dr. to-be) Rachel Stern, what was on my mind was a way to talk about AIDS tests as part of everyone’s annual checkup checklist. Doctor’s visit, cholesterol test, dental cleaning, AIDS test — part of our lives, part of our routine. That’s where this poster came from. It was one of the finalists displayed in the New Museum and sold at Housing Works.
